Being brought up Catholic this writer likes to refer to the New Testament for fuel:

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them
As our world regresses further down this abyss created by the few Super Rich throughout many nations, we can see the resurgence of religious zealousness. These zealots come from many nations and many religions. Theyallthink thattheyown the God they worship… or actuallysaythey worship. Theright wing Christians ( labeled ‘ Christian Fascists’ by super journalist Chris Hedges) pray to Jesus, the Zionist Jews pray to Hashem, the Indian right wing Hindus pray to Shiva and the autocratic Muslims pray to Allah.
In my neck of the woods, the American empire, we have the Republican Party now totally controlled by those Christian Fascists, with help from Republican Zionists (sad to say but equal to the Democratic Party Zionists). Absurdly, the new Speaker of the House of Reps, Mike Johnson, actually stated soon after being elected to his post that he wants America to be a ‘Christian nation’. Now, he may have added ‘Judeo Christian’ to that, but no dice to the myriad of other religions in our (supposed) melting pot. The irony is that most of the undocumented, or ‘Illegal Aliens’ as they label them (Are we a Twilight Zone episode?) who come across our border are Catholic. Matters not. I guess our Christian neighbors who are so ‘Wall conscious’ forget what the man they revere said:
Matthew 25:40 records Jesus saying, “Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.”
Sadly, it is power and control, usually through wealth and or violence, that is the card the Super Rich play. Usually it is the fools parade who follow the appointed leaders these Super Rich choose. If you are a working stiff or a retired working stiff, it is time to say ‘No’ to this.
