I Am You
The soul knows no color
Except golden sacred energy
The energy chooses the flesh
As vehicle for its expression.
The skin peels off, like paper
No magic does it possess
Yet the soul transcends mortality
Carrying a wisdom no body can accept.
From where does all this anger come
The kind that slays the body
Yet never touching the soul
Only disappointing its possibilities.
To hate another is to hate oneself
For we are all links to a chain
So strong it cannot be broken
Like the flesh we crucify every day
In many ways.
