For decades this writer has been getting flak from friends and associates for my belief that this life is nothing but a dream. My readings of Indian yogi and mystic Yogananda reveal how the Hindus and other Eastern religions hold this to be true: The 3rd dimension we operate in is only real to us and a ‘ higher part’ of our essence creates this life to judge how each of us behaves in it. Thus, this reality determines how and why we will spend our future in spirit form, also known as Heaven or Purgatory or Hell. Perhaps I am just dreaming.

Ask yourselves this: Could Woody Allen have made a more potent film script than having Donald Trump become president of the United States…not once but twice!? We New Yorkers knew of this guy for over 40 years as a fast talking real estate developer and woman chaser. We also knew that Donald Trump was a protégé of sleazebag fixer attorney Roy Cohn, he of the infamous Sen. Joe McCarthy’s  ‘Communists under the bed’ hearings. We also knew of Donald Trump as the son of billionaire builder and ex 1920s Ku Klux Klan member Fred Trump, who started Donald out in business with $ millions.

We cannot and should not focus simply on Mr. Trump, because he is just the sounding board for the Super Rich who run things. They helped this guy get in and the tradeoff was what we now are getting… in spades! This current Republican Party obviously is ignorant of what Yogananda taught, and folks, they are on a one way ticket down the rabbit hole. The real dilemma is just how ignorant of things so many of my friends and neighbors are. When those Medicaid cuts start to hit home on millions of Republican supporters, especially those working stiffs and retired working stiffs, just you wait. When the doors to nursing homes and assisted living residences become closed to them, due to no more Medicaid funding, let’s see how they will feel. When rural and urban low income medical clinics cannot treat folks through Medicaid, oh boy!

Somewhere up in the ethers I do believe that the spirit of the Jesus so many MAGA folks adore is shaking his head. All he could say, as God or the universe has those rules of non interference and free will, is ‘ Why?’
